Like the Energizer Bunny, Dave manages to keep on ticking...and winning travel journalism competitions. His latest showing, in fact, may be one of his most impressive ever:
Dave’s five awards in the just concluded 16th annual North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) Travel Journalism Awards competition were the most of any among the more than 500 entrants from around the world. Only two other journalists – Keith Bellows, editor of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TRAVELER, and Nancy Novogrod, editor of TRAVEL & LEISURE—were close with four awards each.
As a freelancer residing in a mountain community of 200 (and thus somewhat isolated from the journalistic mainstream) Dave relishes the recognition, which he says, “helps keep this old geezer going.”
